FVHA is an acronym for Family Village Homeschool Association, a nonprofit organization founded to encourage and support families interested in home education. FVHA assists parents in understanding and fulfilling the laws requirements in Ontario and is affiliated with a few other local popular organizations. FVHA provides leadership and direction on issues facing Christian homeschoolers locally and on a Province wide basis.
Home Teaching is a rapidly growing movement in Ontario and across the nation. This, in turn, has led to the development of many support groups within the Province which provide encouragement to your family as you home teach.
We encourage you to reach out and get involved with other homeschoolers in your area. Don't hesitate to call your local support group or FVHA and ask for help. To locate a support group in your area write to FVHA with the name of the town in which you live and we will attempt to locate a support group near you.

HOME SCHOOL LEGAL DEFENSE ASSOCIATION
HSLDA monitors homeschool legislative issues at the national level and provides legal coverage for participating families in the United States and Canada. The annual membership fee provides experienced legal counsel and representation by qualified attorneys to any member family who is challenged in the area of homeschooling. OFTP and HSLDA support parental choice in education as promoted by the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, Article 26(3):
"Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education
that shall be given to their children."
The Ontario Christian Home Educators' Connection (OCHEC)
The Ontario Christian Home Educators' Connection (OCHEC) is a Christian organization. It bases all of its policies and actions on Christian principles and takes the Bible as its moral and spiritual guide. Officers of the Board of Directors, staff members, and Area Representatives must be believers in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
OCHEC functions as a network in the Province of Ontario that seeks to link together individual home schooling families, home education support groups and private schools whose members are home educators. We endeavour to provide advice, encouragement, ideas and resources to all our members through research and dissemination of information at meetings, conferences and in a regularly published newsletter.
Chapter members do not have to be designated as Christian in order to belong to OCHEC.
